Root & Rebound is proud to announce the launch of the first-ever California Employers' Fair Chance Hiring Toolkit, a critical resource for California employers, H.R. departments, corporate counsel, and business professionals on "Fair Chance" hiring!
Now starting in California in Fall 2016, Root & Rebound will be providing in-person trainings and consultations, based on the content covered in the toolkit and working in collaboration with employment partners, including private and public employers, small and large businesses, workforce development professionals, and community based organizations. We are also excited by the potential to create an online curriculum for HR departments to use across California, and one day nationally.
The toolkit and trainings are part of the larger national effort to increase employment and economic opportunities for the 1 in 3 Americans living with a criminal record, who are disproportionately low-income and people of color. We hope that the toolkit encourages California employers to explore how they can increase their talent pool and retain loyal employees eager for opportunity and a fair chance at work.
Special thanks to our Toolkit Partners & Advisors including: Los Angeles Mayor's Office of Reentry, Los Angeles Metro Employer Advisory Council, City of Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board, Dave's Killer Bread Foundation, National H.I.R.E. Network, National Workrights Institute, and Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.
Toolkit: If you would like to order a paper copy of the toolkit, please fill out this online order form. The cost is $10 sent from our office, or $8 at our in-person trainings.
Trainings & Consultations: If you would like to learn more about how Root & Rebound's Fair Chance Hiring team can work with you to elevate your businesses hiring practices as they relate to fair chance hiring, please contact Aiasha Khalid at email@example.com or Sonja Tonnesen at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
