The California Employers' Fair Chance Hiring Toolkit is a critical resource for employers, H.R. departments, corporate counsel, and workforce development professionals on "Fair Chance" hiring!
Root & Rebound provides in-person trainings and consultations on Fair Chance Hiring to private and public employers, small and large businesses, workforce development professionals, and community-based organizations to improve your H.R. practices and services. Please contact K.C. Taylor at email@example.com for more information.
The toolkit and trainings are part of the larger national effort to increase employment and economic opportunities for the 1 in 3 Americans living with a criminal record, who are disproportionately low-income and people of color. We hope that the toolkit encourages California employers to explore how they can increase their talent pool and retain loyal employees eager for opportunity and a fair chance at work.
Beginning January 1st, 2018, the Fair Chance Act became the law statewide in California, and applies to both private and public employers! Read an update on the law here: Fair Chance Act 2018 Fact Sheet.
