Matthew Thekkethala

Programs Intern

Matt is a summer intern supporting Root & Rebound’s policy work and reentry education initiatives.

He is currently pursuing his B.A. in Political Science and Film Studies at Yale University, where he focuses on issues pertaining to global human trafficking and right-wing populism.

In 2016, he worked with a group of students at the Jackson Institute of Global Affairs to research sex trafficking and implement policy solutions in the State of Connecticut.

Matt’s internship at Root & Rebound is his first encounter with work related to the United States criminal justice system, and he hopes to employ his journalism and videography experience to support Root & Rebound’s mission.

Outside of his professional work, Matt is a standup comedian and storyteller. Catch him at local open mics!
