Neeraj is a Legal Fellow at Root & Rebound. He received his J.D. in May 2017 from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law.
During law school, Neeraj clerked under Judge Victor Stabile of the Pennsylvania Superior Court and interned with the East Bay Community Law Center’s Clean Slate Practice, where his work included impact litigation support and representation of low-income Bay Area residents pursuing record remedies and professional licensure. He has also volunteered with Californians for Safety and Justice supporting Prop 47 applicants seeking felony reductions. His Clean Slate work was supported by a fellowship from the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California.
Neeraj served as the Managing Editor of Communications of the Penn State Journal of Law and International Affairs and organized and hosted a symposium entitled “Environmental Justice in an Uncertain Federal Climate” in the spring of 2017. Neeraj also supported international LLM and SJD students as a teaching and research assistant, and contributed to publications in both insurance and international constitutional law.
Neeraj has B.A.s in English Language and Literature and Labor Studies and Employment Relations from the Pennsylvania State University, where his studies focused on multicultural voices in contemporary American literature and employment discrimination. During college, he also co-hosted Beats n’ Stuff on 90.7 "The Lion" FM, a weekly show dedicated to showcasing hip-hop and instrumental beat music.
Neeraj enjoys retro-futurism, Magic: The Gathering, collecting cassette tapes and records, novels, baking bread, bicycling, forest exploration, and spending time with cats.
