Raquel Virgo

Director of Development

Raquel is the Director of Development at Root & Rebound. She received her M.A. in Political Science with a focus on Urban Policy and Administration from Brooklyn College in 2010, and her B.A. is in English from St. John's University. 

Raquel has over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector and in development. In her previous roles, she raised funds for a variety of causes including youth development, housing/homelessness, education, the environment, and criminal justice reform and reentry. Raquel previously served as Director of Development at JustLeadershipUSA where she played a critical role in raising significant funding for the NYC-based #CLOSErikers Campaign and other NYC- and nationally-focused reform efforts. 

When Raquel isn't raising money to fight racial, economic, and social injustice, she is spending time with her two daughters and husband, and possibly looking for a nap.
