Roadmap 2016 Cover

The "Roadmap to Reentry" Guide

The “Roadmap to Reentry: A California Legal Guide" is designed to be a resource of legal information that people can turn to about issues along the path of reentry. It is comprehensive in scope, covering nine areas of law and civic life: Housing, Employment, Parole & Probation, Education, Cleaning Up Your Criminal Record, ID & Voting, Family & Children, Public Benefits, and Court-ordered Debt.

“I want to say Thank You for the Roadmap to Reentry Legal Guide. It has been very, very helpful to me. Now I am able to say I feel good about getting out of Prison and know that I’ll be able to get my life back.”
— Currently Incarcerated Person in California State Prison

Root & Rebound also creates additional toolkits and resources to support people in reentry and preparing for release, along with their loved ones, advocates, and other critical stakeholders (employers, landlords etc.) that are important allies in the movement for criminal justice reform. We will be adding our future toolkits here, so look out for some new more resources here!

"Roadmap to Reentry" Trainings

Root & Rebound conducts trainings on reentry issues across the state of California, from urban centers with high numbers of people returning home to rural and Native communities so often overlooked by service providers. To check out our training highlights, sign up for our program team's e-Community Newsletter, and view our calendar of upcoming training events, please click the button below.

Reentry Legal Hotline

Root & Rebound operates a Reentry Legal Hotline every Friday from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. PST. It is free and open to anyone in California with a reentry-related legal issue, question, or concern, including those who are incarcerated. Our Hotline phone number is 510-279-4662. Please note: we accept Collect Calls.
