Impacts of the Recall Election on Reentry

When

Wednesday, Sep 01, 2021

Where

via Zoom

As the September 14th recall election draws nearer, voters need to gain a better understanding of the impacts of a successful recall on criminal legal reform policies, specifically on the reentry population. A successful recall could unleash a lot of uncontemplated actions and consequences on the progress the state has made in not only advancing criminal legal reform policies but also immigrant rights, racial justice, LGBTQ rights, and students’ rights.

Please join us on Wednesday, September 1st from 6 – 7 p.m. for a community forum to ask your questions about the recall election and its impacts on reentry. The event will be facilitated by Gail Yen, California Policy Director at Root & Rebound, and will be joined by the following panelists:

  • Natasha Minsker, Policy Consultant, Minsker Consulting
  • Gavrilah Wells, Activist/Family member, Anti-Death Penalty Coalition
  • Claudia Gonzalez, Policy Advocate & Economic Security Coach, Root & Rebound
  • Ashleigh Dennis, Root & Rebound
