Why do you come to work at Root & Rebound every day?

I first came to Root and Rebound as an intern for the summer of 2021 after I graduated undergrad. During that summer I realized how small actions such as submitting an expungement application or accompanying someone to a court hearing could have a major impact on the well-being of another person. I also learned how society continues to unfairly punish those who have already completed and served their sentences and prevents them from moving on in their lives. What I like about Root and Rebound is that it feels very grassroots, local people helping local people in their community. That community feel is what brought me back to Root and Rebound. I appreciate how local attorneys and community members use their knowledge and resources to help people re enter back into society and help them rebuild their lives.
