Why do you come to work at Root & Rebound every day?
Our criminal justice system doesn’t treat everyone equally. The system is abusive, unjust, and unfair. Our country imprisons people at a higher rate than anywhere else in the world, and a much larger share of the imprisoned population are African Americans. The system is broken, and by getting to intern at Root & Rebound, I feel like I am getting to have an impact — even if it may be tiny.
