Jess graduated from UC Berkeley in August 2019 with a B.A. in Political Science and Media Studies. Outside of her classwork, she pursued multiple endeavors at Berkeley Law, working as an assistant at the Henderson Center for Social Justice and exploring her interest in human rights and international relations through research at the Human Rights Lab. Jess also volunteered at San Quentin News, partnering with incarcerated reporters to edit content for their print newspaper, magazine, and digital weekly.

 

As the Development and Communications Coordinator, Jess supports Root & Rebound’s capacity to connect with clients, donors, and staff through social media and more. She is eager to explore the use of media for social good in her work at Root & Rebound.

 

In her spare time, Jess can be found baking, petting neighborhood cats, or listening to really bad 80s music.

Why do you come to work at Root & Rebound every day?

Because I believe Root & Rebound’s mission to empower individuals in reentry is an important restorative remedy for the issues that plague our criminal justice system.
