Leah hails from Baltimore, Maryland, and graduated from Yale University in May 2020 with a B.A. in Middle Eastern history. While in college she prepared free tax returns for New Haven residents, taught classes on international relations to high school students, and researched the history of voting rights in the US. She also worked in the horse industry for the past few years, making her a real-life horse girl! In her free time, she talks to everyone about how adorable her new cat Earl is, and hunts for the best biscuit and grits in Greenville.

As an AmeriCorps member, she assists clients in achieving financial stability by navigating benefits applications, looking for stable employment and affordable housing, and supporting with debt management and budgeting. She also connects clients with other community resources as part of her case management. Her assignment aids the work of Root and Rebound’s attorneys and enables the South Carolina office to better meet the holistic needs of our clients, who face immense and interconnected legal and financial barriers during reentry.
