Sarah is an MSW Student at the University of South Carolina. After graduating with a B.A. in Sustainable Development from Appalachian State University in 2014, she worked in multiple fields over the years including patient nutrition, insurance, and animal rescue. Although Sarah has always been passionate about social justice, her career change came after she moved to South Carolina in 2019 looking for a more meaningful career.
In her academic career, Sarah has researched and written extensively about the social impact of mass incarceration, with an emphasis on how it affects the health and wellbeing of current and formerly incarcerated individuals and their families. Sarah is also a South Carolina AHEC scholar, receiving specialized training in bringing high-quality care to rural communities.
At Root & Rebound’s Greenville location, Sarah supports clients as they work toward their goals, while helping them navigate the community resources available to them. In her limited free time, Sarah likes to spend time with her cats and planning her Fall 2023 wedding!
