Toni is a rising senior at the University of Washington, set to graduate with her B.A. in the spring of 2022. At the University of Washington, Toni is majoring in an interdisciplinary program called Law, Societies, and Justice with a minor in political science. These programs have sparked and cultivated her interest in justice and have allowed her to see firsthand how the justice system disserves members of our communities through unnecessary barriers. During her time at the University, Toni has also become extremely involved in student government and advocating for her peers through interning for and later co-directing a student senate-run entity: Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Activists. Off-campus, Toni has also been heavily involved with the WAVE Foundation, soon to be called Legal Hope, which provides pro bono legal work for survivors of sexual assault and sex trafficking in King County, WA. These and other positions she has held have allowed her to see the importance of providing easily available resources to anyone who may not know that help is out there.

In her spare time, Toni loves exploring the beautiful nature of the Pacific North West, finding great new restaurants with her friends and family, and long-distance running.

Why do you come to work at Root & Rebound every day?

Because it is essential that everyone has access to the resources, education, and advocacy they need. Our justice system can be so confusing and overpowering, but the work that Root & Rebound does to educate and advocate for individuals, as well as work to reform the system, makes me hopeful for the future, and proud to work for an organization that shares my values!
