Minnesota Employers' Fair Chance Hiring Guide

Inspired by our work in California, Root & Rebound's attorneys wrote the Minnesota Employers’ Fair Chance Hiring Guide in partnership with Twin Cities RISE, a Minneapolis-based workforce development nonprofit devoted to transforming lives through personal empowerment, career training, and meaningful employment.

By learning best practices and laws related to fairly considering applicants with records, Minnesota employers can increase their supply of talented workers, meet their legal obligations, and improve their communities. For both moral and economic reasons, the time is now that employers engage in an intentional and proactive strategy to move these marginalized workers into the mainstream of their hiring practices. We hope that the Minnesota Employers’ Fair Chance Hiring Guide will become an active roadmap for employers to start hiring talented individuals into their workforce.
