Hawai’i Reentry Legal & Resource Guide
The Hawai’i Reentry Legal & Resource Guide is designed to help people understand the legal rights and responsibilities of incarcerated people and people with criminal records in the state of Hawai’i, and provide possible resources to assist with people’s transition back into the community. The guide includes basic information about people’s reentry legal rights on key issues including getting ID, housing, employment, and family reunification.
We developed this resource in partnership with Hawai’i Friends of Restorative Justice (HFRJ), a nonprofit organization established in 1980 in Honolulu. HFRJ trains, advocates, develops programs, researches, and educates on evidence-based practices that rehabilitate, heal, and give hope. HFRJ’s research has been published in 50 articles and several books.
