CA Employers’ Fair Chance Hiring Toolkit
The California Employers’ Fair Chance Hiring Toolkit is a critical resource for employers, H.R. departments, corporate counsel, and workforce development professionals on “Fair Chance” hiring.
Root & Rebound provides in-person trainings and consultations on Fair Chance Hiring to private and public employers, small and large businesses, workforce development professionals, and community-based organizations to improve your H.R. practices, internal policies, and services.
The toolkit and trainings are part of the larger national effort to increase employment and economic opportunities for the 1 in 3 Americans living with a criminal record, who are disproportionately low-income and people of color. We hope that the toolkit encourages California employers to explore how they can increase their talent pool and retain loyal employees eager for opportunity and a fair chance at work.
Special thanks to our Toolkit Partners & Advisors including: Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Reentry, Los Angeles Metro Employer Advisory Council, City of Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board, Dave’s Killer Bread Foundation, National H.I.R.E. Network, National Workrights Institute, and Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.
Responsive to the demand for Root & Rebound’s reentry legal resources nationally, we are partnering with great organizations across the country to develop national and state-based resources for people with records to navigate barriers to housing, employment, family law, getting ID, parole and probation issues, voter re-enfranchisement, public benefits & more.
